How to Do Ozone Cupping
On this page, you will find a step-by-step picture guide on how to do ozone cupping.
Ozone cupping, which is also called “ozone funneling”, is the process of concentrating the ozone stream onto one specific area of the skin with the help of a cup or funnel. The treated area needs to be moistened with warm water to open the pores. I recommend using a mask or a fan to protect yourself from breathing ozone during the treatment.
Here, a complete list of the necessary equipment:
What equipment do you need to do ozone cupping?
Every ozone set-up consists of the following four parts:
In this case, it translates to the following set-up:
1. Oxygen source plus regulator, here it's a O2Ready oxygen tank and with a matching low flow regulator.
2. Ozone generator, here it's a Promolife Dual
3. Accessories: silicone tubing (around 2 x 3-4 ft. / 1 – 1.2 m), silicone cups, 3 male luer lock connectors, a spray bottle with warm water, a piece of cloth
4. Breathing protection: Mask, and a cup with the destructor attached
Suggested settings
Ozone concentration: | 20 to 010 mcg/ml |
Oxygen flow: | 1/8 – 1/16 LPM |
Duration: | 2 to 10 min |
Suggested settings
Ozone concentration:
20 to 100 mcg/ml
Oxygen flow:
1/8 – 1/16 LPM
Duration:
2 – 10 min
- Push a 3 or 4 feet (1 to 1.2 m) long silicone (or PVC) tubing onto the regulator.
2. Push a male luer lock onto the silicone tubing.
3. Screw the regulator onto the O2Ready tank.
4. Screw the luer lock connector into the oxygen in port of the ozone generator.

5. Take another 3 to 4 feet (1 to 1.2 m) long silicone tubing and push a male luer lock into each end.
6. Screw one end of the silicone tubing into the “ozone out” port.
7. Connect the other end with the inlet of the silicone cup.
8. Plug the ozone generator into the power supply.
9. Spray some warm water on the cloth.
10. Wipe the area you want to cup with the wet and warm piece of cloth.
11. Put the mask on. (If you prefer, use a fan instead.)
12. Select the ozone concentration. Here, I pick 60 mcg/ml for an oxygen flow of 1/8 LPM.
13. Open the oxygen tank by turning the black dial to the right. You should see the gauge on the regulator jump up.
14. Set the regulator to 1/8 LPM.
15. Turn the ozone generator on. In this case, set the first dial to 5, the second to 2 to achieve 60 mcg/ml.

16. Place the cup on the wetted area and press it down, so that no ozone can escape from underneath the cup.
17. Keep the cup pressed on your skin for 2 to 10 minutes.
18. Re-apply the wet cloth from time to time to keep the skin moist.
19. When you're done, turn off the ozone generator.
20. Close the black dial on the O2Ready and release pressure from the regulator by setting it to the maximum flow (4 LPM) until the gauge goes down to 0.

Will ozone cupping help with shrinking thyroid nodules?
I have a benign tumor in my nipple that leaves a constant small open wound. I have been cupping it for the past few days with an air fed ozone machine with a tube inserted into a cup that I hold on my breast. In your opinion will this machine be effective at getting rid of this tumor even if it takes longer?
excellent
Have you heard of ozone cupping healing plantar warts? Lipoma? Is it good for muscle soreness??
Hi Honey,
I have heard about ozone injections helping with lipomas. As to plantar warts – can't recall anything right now, sorry. But may be worth a try …
I successfully got rid of warts on my feet by drinking 2 to 3 cups of stinging nettle tea every day.
Within a week the warts got soft.
A week after that they turned red and blood shot.
Another week or two after that they disappeared. Fell off or something, forgot exactly. But it worked quite well. This was years before I knew about ozone …
Best,
Also forgot to add what is that above the cupping device? Is it a destructor? I've not seen one like that before, that's all.
If you mean that black little pipe – yes, that's a destructor. It minimizes your ozone exposure during the procedure.
Best,
Hi Paola, thanks for this description btw, what i wanted to ask was why do you always seem to use both channels of your promolife dual chamber ozone machine? I saw 59 in column 1 at the pic above which would have used less oxygen (1/16 instead of 1/8) and only be using half the machine, in effect saving the other half. What is the logic behind your thinking? Is it that you just like both channels working so the machine is also getting a bit of a workout? Just curious really.
Hi Graham,
the reason I use both cells in this case is because of the oxygen flow.
I think using an oxygen flow of 1/16 LPM would take too much time to fill the cup and be effective, so I picked 1/8 LPM, in the hopes of speeding it up. This then requires me to use both cells on the generator to get the desired ozone concentration.
But if you see good results with a flow of 1/16 LPM, then you can use that as well. It also depends on the size of the cup. Smaller cups may be OK with lower flows. Bigger cups would call for a higher flow.
Best,
Nice ahhh, cup.
Thanks for the memories.
