Now they say there is LESS ozone in cities than in rural areas, and they say this as if it was self-evident and well established. Why do cities then enact car use restrictions on days of high ozone levels?

"People already knew that the ozone in the city is lower than in rural areas, but we have shown with measurements that it is even lower," emphasizes Thomas Karl. The researchers now hope that existing models can now also be improved for urban areas. "It is important to be able to quantify air pollutants well."
